Cateye Vetra Wireless August 24, 2010 Mike This is an excellent, but basic, bike computer. It gives you current speed, total miles, trip miles, and current time. The only problem is the mount is really basic, relying on zip ties. Mounting is very easy and I have used the computer for over 100 miles with no problems.
Cateye Reliability August 18, 2010 Dietrich H. Hertel (Buckeye, AZ) I have had this model for over a year. I have around 350 miles on it now. This doesn't seem like many miles but I have it mounted on a beach cruiser. I bought this because it was the lowest price wireless Cateye available. I have never had a problem with it. The clock tells me when I need to cruise home. The distance tells me how far I rode this time. The odometer tells me how often I need to service the bike.
The clean wireless setup doesn't detract from the simplicity of my cruiser.
Nice design. Terrible functionality March 25, 2010 Michael W. Heinz (Phoenixville, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this from another site on a liquidation sale, so I bought it strictly on price without paying attention to features.
Boy was I disappointed.
In an age where you can buy a $10 dollar cyclometer from K-Mart that supports two bikes, average speed, trip time, daily odometer and auto-start and stop, it never occurred to me that these features would be missing from a $30 brand-name device like a Cateye.
Unfortunately, the Cateye doesn't have any of these features, which means it is useless for doing any kind of serious training. While the quality of the hardware is good, I simply cannot recommend this to anyone who needs to keep track of how long, how far or how fast they ride.
Good Entry Level Cyclecomputer January 12, 2009 Steven J. Carr (Sacramento, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This unit was easy to install and program. Wireless makes for a clean look. Functions don't include average speed which is actually a good thing for a winter single speed bike where getting there in one piece is a bigger priority.
Eyes for Cat Eye Vectra October 20, 2008 Dashir (Sacramento, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just recently purchased and began using this computer. I found it pretty easy to set up and install on my bike. Being wireless is a real bonus--no wires running everywhere that need to be zip-tied to the frame. Inexpensive and does exactly what I need it to do. Downsides? If you're looking for a computer to keep track of cadence, this isn't it. Also, it will take some getting used to determing which mode I'm in since the little tiny letters that tell you which is which is, well, tiny. I need reading glasses and don't plan on wearing them when I cycle.
