Good size, kind of hard to set up February 11, 2010 Richard Hook (montana) The directions to set this up could have been better. This is small, easy to read and has the information I want, all for a good price. Very nice!
An obvious addition to your bike November 2, 2009 Luc Saint-Elie (Paris, France) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used various bike computers, the BC906 is a basic (basic but enough) strong, reliable, easy to set up model.
The BC906 as only one drawback: the manual as been written by some kind of sadistic psychopath. On the other hand, setting it up on the bike is a 5 minutes process (configuring settings requires some zen lessons, but once it's done it's done, so...).
Under all other aspects, the BC906 does want it pretends to do : give basic data about your ride in a very reliable and precise manner (i checked for example the distance with a GPS.. perfect).
Display is easy to read (even if switching from one display set to another while riding is not that easy, because the button is small and requires a strong pressure).
On the reliability department, my BC906 as never had a single problem (I've had numerous problems with wireless computers, the wire seem to be a better solution when it comes to reliability) I even use it under the rain without problem.
For those living in an area where thieves are a problem, the computer is very easy to take away from its dock, and is very small so very easy to carry on..
My conclusion is simple : for a lot of people, and considering its low price, the BC906 is de facto requirement for a new bike. For those with a moderate sport approach it's convenient to have data such as speed, average speed, distance and so on, and even without any sport approach, it's pleasant and useful to know what distance we have covered, to have the time right in front the eyes without needing to try to see the watch on the wrist and so on.
Ease of setup and good legibility make it a best buy October 30, 2009 David Bradford (Cary, NC USA) As an older rider, I appreciate that the display is easily readable without reading glasses. The unit is also much easier to set up than the Cat's Eye cycle computers I've wrestled with previously. This one is also easy to install, and stays put even on tapered handlebars. I highly recommend this unit, especially given the very resonable price.
Nice. October 13, 2009 TpetPlayr It works pretty good. I'm totally sure about the accuracy of it. It's close, but maybe not spot on. the rubber bands could be a little bigger. the one for attaching it to the stem was too small. but other than that, I really like it.
NIce Little Bike Computer October 7, 2009 D. Boucher (Andover, MA USA) The Sigma BC906 is a nice, inexpensive but very functional bicycle trip computer. This is the second one I've bought. The display is nice and easily readable. The unit runs forever on one battery and provides all of the basic information ( speed, distance, time) for monitoring your trip or amateur bicyclist training ride. The only problem with this unit is that it sits in a simple bayonet lock on its mounting pad. The bayonet lock makes the computer easy to remove when you have to leave your bike unattended but it also makes it easy to fall out of the mount in response to severe vibration or shocks. Lost my last one while transporting the bike on the back of my car(with computer mounted)during a 30 mile normal highway trip.
Good value for the price but be sure to secure the computer in its mount else in may fall out at an inopportune time.
